Day 1: Shannon

Join us on horseback to discover Connemara, with its brilliant shades of green, ancient castles, and mystical monasteries. Ireland is a land of nature and mysterious Celtic legends, and exploring it on horseback will be an unforgettable experience. We offer a combination of visits to ancient Irish castles and monastic ruins, coupled with enchanting routes through Irish bogs, fields, and farmland. Four days on the beautiful Irish or Connemara horses will guide you to the impressive Portumna Castle, once home to the Earl of Clanricarde, and the Pallas Castle, one of the best-preserved tower houses of the 14th century. We will also leave the horses behind to take a boat to Holy Island on the River Shannon, where you can explore the ruins of one of Ireland’s most important monastic settlements and visit a 5,000-year-old Celtic tomb!

ITALY/SHANNON/WHITEGATE (-/-/D)
Arrival at Shannon Airport (SNN) and a two-hour independent transfer to Whitegate stables (or transfer available on request, between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM – €45 per person each way, payable locally). Relax in the afternoon and meet at 7:00 PM for dinner with the rest of the group. Overnight in the old farmhouse adjacent to the stables.

Day 2: Whitegate

WHITEGATE (B/L/D)
After breakfast, horses will be assigned, and we will ride for about two hours to explore the surrounding area, crossing forests and vast countryside. Return to the stables for lunch, and in the afternoon, we will travel by vehicle to Mountshannon harbor, where we will take a boat to Holy Island. Pilgrims visited here until the mid-19th century. Today, you can explore the ruins of five different churches, monks' cells, and a cemetery dating back to the 12th century. After returning to the mainland, you will have time to explore the village and visit a pub. Return to the stables for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Whitegate

WHITEGATE (B/L/D)
Approximately three hours in the saddle, discovering the Slieve Aughty Mountains, with beautiful views over the River Shannon. Visit Portumna Castle, a 17th-century site with a museum. Free time to explore the village.

Day 4: Whitegate

WHITEGATE (B/L/D)
Today we will ride for about three hours to reach the ruins of Pallas Castle, dating back to the 14th century and one of the best-preserved castles from that era. Return to the stables through the beautiful Irish countryside.

Day 5: Whitegate

WHITEGATE (B/L/D)
An entire day in the saddle, riding through bogs with heather bushes. A picnic lunch along the way, and in the afternoon, we will arrive at a typical Celtic dolmen dating back 5,000 years! Return to the stables for dinner and overnight stay.
