Day 1: Cagliari

CAGLIARI / SANT'ANTIOCO (-/-/D)
We are all used to thinking of Sardinia as a summer destination, with the crowded beaches of Costa Smeralda and the nightlife of Porto Cervo; however, there is much more to discover. Join us for a horseback trekking adventure in Sardinia, and you will uncover another side of the island, unknown to most, a land of authentic traditions that date back to ancient times. Sardinia, with its mild climate and unspoiled nature, is ideal to explore on horseback. The island has a deeply rooted equestrian tradition, and no village festival is complete without the horse playing a leading role, such as the famous "Sartiglia" festival. Come with us to explore the southern part of the island: Sant'Antioco Island and San Pietro Island. You will discover beaches with white sand, cliffs plunging into crystal-clear waters, and a paradise home to a variety of birds and flamingo colonies. These islands are part of the Sulcis archipelago, located in the southwestern tip of the island:
• Sant'Antioco is the largest, connected by an artificial isthmus, famous and frequently visited during the summer. Its charming harbor, colorful houses, and lively atmosphere are its main attractions.
• San Pietro, also called the "island of sparrowhawks," inhabited since prehistory, is surrounded by rugged coastlines that drop steeply into the sea up to 150 meters. The cliffs alternate with sheltered coves and sandy beaches.
And it will not only satisfy your eyes but also your palate, with local specialties of meat or fish served for dinner every evening. Beautiful Arab-Sardinian and Anglo-Arab horses will accompany you on this adventure, suitable for both intermediate and experienced riders.
Arrival at Cagliari airport, pick-up at 7:00 PM (different times available upon request with a supplement) and transfer to the hotel in the lively town of Sant'Antioco. Dinner at a traditional restaurant and overnight stay at Hotel "I Colori" (or similar).

Day 2: Sant'Antioco

SANT'ANTIOCO (B/L/D)
Breakfast, transfer to the meeting point with the horses, and we begin a several-hour ride that will be historically engaging and relaxing thanks to a stop at Lake Tratalias. Leaving the stables, we head toward the sea, towards the Saline of Sant'Antioco. Following the path along the local river, we enter the small village of Palmas Vecchio, where we will admire a church dating back to 1000 AD.
The next stop will be the artificial Tratalias Lake, where we will reach a beautiful viewpoint overlooking both the nearby lake and the distant coastal scenery.
On the return, we will visit the medieval village of Tratalias Vecchia. Surrounded by native vegetation and the enchanting shades of blue from the lake and sea, this will be a truly captivating excursion. We will enjoy a delicious fish dinner and local specialties at the cozy "da Silvana" restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Sant'Antioco

SANT'ANTIOCO (B/L/D)
Breakfast and a day dedicated to an expert riders' route to discover the eastern coast of Sant'Antioco Island.
After reaching Sant'Antioco Island by van, we will unload the horses at the former Palmas Cave area. From here, a walk through the Mediterranean scrub will lead us to the beautiful Maladroxia beach, followed by a ride southward along the coastline to the wild Co’e Cuaddus beach.
Next, we will reach the Turri area, where the imposing 18th-century tower dominates the promontory and intimate coves, some sandy and others rocky, depending on the whims of the sea. After taking in the incomparable panorama from this coastal stretch, we will ascend the island through its interior, reaching the Piana di Cannai, and then return to the starting point. This experience, with many stops, will allow you to discover the east coast of Sant'Antioco Island and leave you absolutely enchanted. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Sant'Antioco

SANT'ANTIOCO (B/L/D)
For this second route on Sant'Antioco Island, the starting point is the well-known Funtana Cannai, an ancient watering hole for animals located in the eponymous plain.
From here, we will venture along the path leading to the ruins of Su Semafuru, the historical semaphore station located on a hill that watches over the Gulf of Palmas. After enjoying the unparalleled view offered from this strategic hilltop—an excellent vantage point from which to admire the island and the surrounding sea—our journey through the Mediterranean scrub will take us to Portu Sciusciau, with a view of the picturesque "Grotta delle Sirene" (Cave of the Sirens).
We will then visit the Nuragic village of Grutti 'e acqua and the Tomb of the Giants located in Su Niu ‘e su Crobu. Our last stop before returning will be the beautiful Calasapone beach, with its rocks surrounding the sea, forming a scenic bay perfect for admiring colorful sunsets. We will enjoy local fish dishes at a nearby restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Sant'Antioco

SANT'ANTIOCO (B/L/D)
On this excursion, we will stop at the Domus de Janas of Monte Crobu and ascend Monte Suergiu hill until we reach an altitude of 400 meters above sea level.
From the green trails of this hill, you will be surprised by breathtaking views of the sea and the islands of Sant'Antioco, San Pietro, the private Piana Island, and other small islands of the Sulcis archipelago. This unique viewpoint will surely captivate you, and you will not be able to resist taking a beautiful photo.
We will have dinner at "Renzo e Rita" restaurant in Sant'Antioco, serving local products. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Sant'Antioco

SANT'ANTIOCO (B/L/D)
From the stables, we will head toward the ancient fishing village where the present-day town of Is Loccis Santus now stands.
We will pass by the remains of some Domus de Janas, burial caves from 8,000 years ago, before heading toward the sea.
From Punta ‘e Trettu, passing through Corungiuali, we will reach Bruncu Teula, where a scenic beach walk awaits us. We will cross small beaches and sands, trotting along the shoreline, and then ascend the coast to enjoy a privileged view of the nearby San Pietro Island.
Breathing in the intoxicating scent of the fresh sea breeze while on horseback will make this excursion a truly unique and rewarding experience. Dinner with meat and fish at "da Silvana" restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7: Sant'Antioco

SANT'ANTIOCO (B/L/D)
For this route, we will start directly from our stables and follow the local river toward the sea.
We will admire the southern coastline, stopping at the Porto Botte beach, a windy cove popular with kite surfers. Next, we will visit the charming Is Solinas beach, located in the Masainas municipality, and continue toward the enchanting Su Portu 'e su Trigu bay before reaching the renowned Porto Pino beach, famous for its white sands and characteristic dunes, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Along the way, we may spot some pink flamingos and enjoy a walk through coastal vineyards, while being pleasantly struck by the unmistakable fragrances of green junipers and Aleppo pines.
Dinner at the Agrifoglio agritourism in San Giovanni Suergiu with zero-kilometer products. Overnight at the hotel.
