Day 1: Camprodon

For many, it is a dream to go horseback riding in Costa Brava… for many, a myth, this stretch of coast in Catalonia is one of the Mediterranean's places where land meets sea with truly spectacular contrasts: rocky outcrops, forest, sandy coves, and the intense blue of the sparkling sea. From the heights of the Pyrenees, we can admire these contrasts, reaching peaks up to 2800 meters, crossing gorges and sometimes lunar landscapes. The extension of the Costa Brava goes from Blanes, 60 kilometers from Barcelona, to the French border. Here, thanks to the combination of practically perfect summer weather, unspoiled nature, and excellent beaches, it has developed a lot touristically. The natural parks, beaches, traditional fishing villages, botanical gardens, museums, and historical monuments make it a truly complete destination. We will set off on horseback from Camprodon, located on the slopes of the Pyrenees, and through woods and dense vegetation, we will encounter remains of Roman testimonies such as Pont de Bolassell. We will pass through high Garrotxa, characterized by dense oak forests, bathe with the horses at Lago Boadella, overlook Costa Brava from Parelada to Llanca, and finally cross the Albera Natural Park. Choosing a horseback trekking adventure in Costa Brava means experiencing a 360-degree adventure: not only beautiful nature and landscapes but also ancient history and culinary traditions, discovering the territory of the legendary “cava” similar to our prosecco.

BARCELONA / CAMPRODON (-/-/D)
If you don’t wish to rent a car, a group pick-up will be arranged at Barcelona airport (T1 – Café Jamaica) at 6:00 PM, followed by a transfer of about one hour to Camprodon, specifically to L’Abella, a small stone village located on the slopes of the Pyrenees. Overview of the travel plan and overnight stay in a typical farm guesthouse, Guesthouse L’Abella or similar (shared facilities).

Day 2: Camprodon

CAMPRODON / OIX (B/L/D)
Departure from L’Abella towards the Salarsa Valley, passing through forests of huge oak trees, visiting a small Roman church and continuing to another Roman landmark, Pont de Bolassell. We will then travel through thick vegetation to reach the highest point of the day, Coll de Salomò, at 850 meters. The day will end in Oix at Forn de Beget or similar.

Day 3: Oix

OIX / ALBANYA (B/L/D)
We will depart through the area called Alta Garrotxa, characterized by dense oak forests and ravines where it’s possible to cool off. We’ll climb up to Talaxà and then descend the other side into a valley, before going back up to Coll de Bassegoda. Picnic lunch break. In the afternoon, we will cross the Muga River to enter the Albanya area. Overnight stay at Camping Bassegosa Park or similar.

Day 4: Albanya

ALBANYA / PARELADA (B/L/D)
A day with easy terrain, allowing us to enjoy several gallops. At Lake Boadella, we will have a swim... with the horses, a unique and unforgettable experience. Then we will cross the Albera National Park, a protected area known for its vegetation and clay formations. We will arrive in the delightful medieval village of Perelada, famous for its “cava,” a sparkling wine similar to our spumante. Overnight stay at Cal Rajoler or similar.

Day 5: Llanca

PARELADA / LLANCA (B/L/D)
Today, we leave the mountains and ride in the area along the famous Costa Brava. From Parelada, we will head to Llanca, a small historic village just a few steps from the sea, but hidden for protection from sea attacks as far back as the 9th century. Overnight stay at Hotel Beri in the old town center or similar.

Day 6: Llanca

LLANCA (B/L/D)
We will head to the beach with the horses, where you can take a swim. Then, we will ride through the Albera Natural Park to return to Llanca. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy. The last dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Beri or similar.
