Day 1: Arusha

A safari in Tanzania is a must for those who love Africa and horses; you simply cannot miss a horseback safari in Tanzania, one of the main destinations for lovers of the wild savannah. Although not very large, Arusha National Park, named after Warusha, the name of the local population in the region, offers a wide variety of flora and fauna in a pleasant setting. Located 25 km from the city of Arusha and just 35 km from Kilimanjaro Airport, it allows you to experience the adventure of a 7-night or 3-night horseback safari and the thrill of sleeping in a tent, and then continue to other equally interesting parks. It belongs to a group of parks known as the "Northern Safari Circuit," which includes:

Lake Manyara National Park, covering an area of only 330 km² but very picturesque. Declared a World Heritage Site in 1981 and a film set for movies like "Tarzan." Despite its modest size, considering that it is largely occupied by the lake's waters, it is one of the parks with the highest biodiversity in all of Tanzania, boasting no less than 5 interconnected ecosystems;

Tarangire National Park, located about a hundred kilometers west of Arusha, southeast of Lake Manyara. Named after the Tarangire River, which runs through it, and also called the "park of giants" due to the enormous and spectacular baobabs;

Serengeti National Park, in Maasai language meaning "endless land." It extends from Lake Victoria to Kenya, where it becomes Masai Mara. Of extraordinary historical interest due to paleontological findings, it is an absolute must-see;

Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a massive crater, one of the wonders of the world.
ITALY/ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK (-/-/D)
Pick-up at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and a 40-minute transfer to the lodge, nestled in lush vegetation and home to various animal species. The lodge features a polo field where you may be able to watch a game. Dinner (drinks excluded) and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 2: Arusha

ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK (B/L/D)
After breakfast, transfer about 30 minutes to the entrance of Arusha National Park. Here, the horses will be waiting. We will ride through areas of grassland and forest, with a good chance of spotting buffaloes, giraffes, monkeys, and other species. We will stop for lunch along the way, and after a siesta, we will continue the ride to the evening camp, located at the foot of Mount Meru. Dinner under the stars and overnight stay in a comfort tented camp.

Day 3: Arusha

ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK (B/L/D)
An early wake-up, then we ride through the areas where the movie Hatari with John Wayne was filmed. By mid-morning, we begin an ascent to the best viewpoint of Mount Kilimanjaro in the entire park. Here, we leave the horses and continue by 4X4; we pass the famous “fig tree arch” and head for a lunch stop at a waterfall located 2000 meters above sea level. Afterward, we return to the horses and head back to camp. You can rest at the camp or take a 4X4 ride to Lake Momella to spot hippos at sunset. Dinner and overnight stay in the tented camp.

Day 4: Arusha

ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK (B/L/D)
After a hearty breakfast, we leave Arusha National Park by 4X4 towards Mount Kilimanjaro. After approximately 2.5 hours, we meet the horses and ride through Maasai land, giving us the opportunity to learn about the Maasai people. We will stop for lunch under an acacia tree, and in the afternoon, we will ride to our next tented camp, arriving before sunset.

Day 5: Arusha

ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK (B/L/D)
An early wake-up and ride towards the Kenyan border. After crossing the “Seven Sisters,” we will stop for lunch and siesta under the acacia trees. In the afternoon, the landscape changes from lush forest to vast plains, and the wildlife changes as well. We will likely spot many zebras, elephants, antelopes, and warthogs. A new camp for the night with views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru, Namanga, and Longido.

Day 6: Arusha

ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK (B/L/D)
Morning ride through various landscapes, following the tracks of elephants. Return to camp for lunch, and in the afternoon, enjoy another horseback safari until sunset. Dinner and overnight stay in the tented camp.

Day 7: Arusha

ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK (B/L/D)
Last day of riding. We will try to make the most of it by tracking elephants, lions, and even the shy kudu. Dinner and overnight stay in the same tented camp.

Day 8:

ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK/ITALY (B/L/-)
Breakfast and return to civilization. Transfer about 3 hours to the departure lodge. Time for a shower and the last lunch (drinks excluded) before the transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport (your return flight should not be before 3:00 PM).
