Day 1: Billings

An exciting equestrian stay at a ranch in Montana awaits you…who among you hasn't been thrilled reading 'The Horse Whisperer'? Well, Nicholas Evans, the author of the famous novel, stayed right here to draw inspiration for his bestseller. In the book, which, let's recall, tells the story of the recovery of a problematic horse thanks to a horse whisperer, we find many analogies with the reality of this ranch. Here you will discover the authentic Montana, filled with genuine people, a great passion for horses, and a deep-rooted country culture. This ranch in Montana is located in the Gallatin National Forest area, nestled in the Clarks Fork valley, crossed by the river of the same name, between the Pryor Mountains and the Beartooth Mountains, which, thanks to Granite Peak, holds the record for the highest peak in the state of Montana. This working ranch offers its guests the chance to spend a week immersed in nature and discover life in typical western style, with saloons and rodeos. The days can be spent differently depending on the seasons: herding and moving cattle, branding calves, etc. You will also have the opportunity to visit the historic town of Cody, the birthplace of William Frederick Cody, also known as Buffalo Bill, a soldier, explorer, and showman who became a national hero after a brief hand-to-hand combat with the Indian chief Yellow Hand in 1876.

ITALY/BILLINGS/BRIDGER (-/-/D)
Upon arrival at Billings Logan Airport (BIL), transfer (USD 240 per person upon request to be paid locally) between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM, and transfer to the ranch. Accommodation in cabins and dinner.

From 2nd to 5th day: BRIDGER (B/L/D)
The weekly program can vary greatly depending on the season, as each month is characterized by different activities:
May/June
The focus is mainly on checking the herds in the pastures, riding across the vast lands of the ranch. Branding also begins.

June/August
The rodeo season starts, running from June 1st to the end of September. Cody Night Rodeo awaits you once a week, and you will have the chance to visit the historic town of Cody, founded by the famous Buffalo Bill!
The ranch is also surrounded by 100,000 acres of diverse landscapes: you can follow mountainous and desert trails, and every day we will move the horses by van to start our trekking. We also always offer various activities at the ranch, such as team penning, sorting, and barrel racing. You will learn to lasso and help the cowboys manage the livestock.

June/September
Between June and September, it will be possible to spend a night camping out (weather and terrain conditions permitting).

September
The perfect month to observe local wildlife now that the temperatures are cooler. We also begin moving the herds from the summer pastures to the winter ones.

October
Movement of the herds and the possibility of trekking in the more desert-like areas of the region. It is also the time for the Nile Stock Show and horse auctions.
