Day 1: Cagliari

The Green Coast is the perfect destination for those who want to experience horseback riding on the Gulf of Oristano. The so-called Green Coast is "Sardinia you don't expect." A region far from crowded beaches, nightclubs, nightlife, glittering lights, and yachts. Here, the most authentic and unspoiled soul of the island is still preserved, hidden from mass tourism, ideal for feeling like the protagonist in an adventure film: the Green Coast, with its golden dunes, cliffs overlooking the sea, and lush Mediterranean scrub, stretches for 47 kilometers in the southwestern part of Sardinia, in the municipality of Arbus, in the province of Medio Campidano. Its name comes from the rich Mediterranean vegetation that frames the fine golden sandy beaches, interrupted by rocky coves and protected by high mountains shaped by the wind. The landscape feels suspended in time, with nature having reclaimed the ruins of abandoned mining villages and buildings after the closure of extraction activities in the last century. Today, these remains, integrated into a unique ecosystem of vegetation and sand, are a silent and fascinating testimony to Sardinia’s mining archaeology within the Geomineral Historical and Environmental Park of Sardinia. Day 2: Arborea

ARBOREA/SANT’ANTONIO DI SANTADI (B/L/D)
After breakfast, meet at the Ala Birdi Equicenter stables adjacent to your hotel, assign the horses, and depart. We head towards the ancient fishing village of Marceddì, immersing ourselves in the regenerating silence of the untouched nature of the Ebrea plain. The route develops between charming ponds and shaded paths. We cross wetlands and sandy streets, alternating between trot and gallop, until we reach the picturesque village of Marceddì. This place, with its breathtaking view, is perfect for taking photographs and enjoying the authentic beauty of the land. Lunch stop at a local restaurant, where we can taste typical local products, especially the fresh catch of the day. After a refreshing break, we continue the journey along the Marceddì pond. We then head towards the Zurufusu mine, located in the direction of Pistis and Torre dei Corsari. Here, we explore a place of great historical interest linked to the region's mining past, with unique and suggestive landscapes. After visiting the mine, we reach Casa Casti, located in the area of Arbus, in the district of Sant’Antonio di Santadi. After check-in, we relax with a sunset aperitif, followed by a traditional barbecue dinner in a country style. The day ends with a well-deserved rest, ready for new adventures the next day.


Day 3: Arborea

SANT’ANTONIO DI SANTADI / ARBOREA (B/L/D)
After breakfast, prepare the horses and depart for the second day of trekking. We head along the mountainous paths of the Arburese area, crossing breathtaking landscapes until we reach the coast between Pistis and the dunes of Torre dei Corsari. Once at the destination, we stop to relax. The horses are left in the shade of the trees, while we have the opportunity to take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Pistis beach. Picnic lunch surrounded by nature. After lunch, we continue the journey, heading back towards Ala Birdi. The return route follows the paths of Pistis, along the coast, passing by the Marceddì pond. We cross the ancient fishing village again before returning to Ala Birdi. Dinner and overnight stay at Horse Country.


Day 4: Arborea

You can also book a simple seaside stay with daily horseback riding excursions, or short walks at dawn or sunset, carriage rides, and horseback riding lessons for both adults and children from 3 years old.

The proposed routes pass through areas of Mediterranean scrub and coastal stretches with views of the sea. The terrain varies but is not particularly complex.
