Day 1: Temuco - Airport

ITALY/TEMUCO/GEPPINGER LAGOON (-/-/D)
Pick-up at Temuco International Airport, La Araucania (ZCO), or from Pucón airport in the morning. Transfer to the farm, room assignment, and introduction to the horses with a first ride around the lands of the Quelhue communities and up to the rapids of the Trancura River. In the late afternoon, we will move for dinner and overnight stay at our camp near Geppinger Lagoon, where we will begin our riding adventure the next day.


Day 2: Temuco

GEPPINGER LAGOON/RIO BLANCO (B/L/D)
We will start this adventure by crossing the first three mountains towards Argentina, reaching our evening camp near the Río Blanco Valley.


Day 3: Temuco

RIO BLANCO/FLOR DE VALLE (B/L/D)
We will ride through dense rainforests, Coihue trees, bamboo, crystal-clear mountain lakes, and rocky sections. In the evening, a camp will be set up in the area of the Mapuche indigenous community.


Day 4: Temuco

B/L/D)
We will ride along the slopes of the Sollipulli Volcano, and in the evening, we will set up camp in a forest of Araucaria trees.


Day 5: Temuco

ICALMA LAKE (B/L/D)
Today, we will travel the final stretch in Chilean territory. Dinner and overnight stay in a lodge near Lake Icalma.


Day 6: Temuco

ICALMA LAKE/ARGENTINA (B/L/D)
We will complete the customs formalities at the Chilean border and continue into the mountains, where we will cross the actual border into Argentina on foot. Here, we will say goodbye to our Chilean guides and horses, meeting our new traveling companions just a few meters ahead. They will accompany us for the next three days through the stunning Argentine Andes. We will ride on the Mahuida Volcano, which exceeds 2000 meters in height. Dinner and overnight stay in camp.


Day 7: Temuco

ARGENTINA (B/L/D)
We will ride through unexplored valleys, where we will meet only a few shepherds with their goats and condors soaring in the sky. Dinner and overnight stay in camp.


Day 8: Temuco

ARGENTINA (B/L/D)
In the evening, we will reach a forward post where our guide lives. We will celebrate the end of our journey with a barbecue.


Day 9:

Transfer back to Chile and arrival in Pucón or Temuco Airport around 1:00 PM, or in Pucón at 3:30 PM to retrieve the luggage left behind. Upon request, there is the option to stay in Argentina and extend the trip.

Note: The itinerary described above is indicative and may be subject to changes due to weather conditions or circumstances beyond our control. On 10-night departures, an additional day will be added at the Sollipulli Volcano.

ACCOMMODATION: Cottage + tented camp
EQUIPMENT:Chilean Creole saddle, called Avios, specifically designed for long rides. Covered with soft wool padding for extra comfort.
HORSES: Criollo, strong and well-suited for mountainous terrain.
PACE: Riding 6 to 9 hours per day at a moderate pace due to the presence of pack horses. The terrain is mostly mountainous across the Andes, and in some stretches, riders may need to lead their horses on foot. Good physical condition is required to endure long days in the saddle.
In the Argentine pampas, there will be opportunities for galloping.
WHAT TO BRING: Personal belongings will be carried in saddlebags and on pack horses. Your luggage will be packed in a waterproof bag that fits into the saddlebag.
You will need to prepare one bag for the Chilean part and another for the Argentine side of the journey.
On the last day in Chile, a supply truck will meet the group and carry the luggage for the days in Argentina.
Luggage weight limit: 5 kg (excluding tent, sleeping pad, and sleeping bag – provided by the guides).
You may pack a slightly larger bag for the Argentine part, as a support vehicle will carry the luggage.
All extra luggage not needed during the ride will be safely stored at the base ranch and brought to Argentina on the final day.
Recommended gear: Layered riding clothes, Warm clothing for cold Andean nights, Waterproof jacket, Towel, Headlamp, Sunscreen, Insect repellent, Swimsuit, Trekking shoes (recommended)

Tented Camps are equipped with high-quality, comfortable tents from brands like The North Face and Salewa Denali. Tents are lightweight, single or double.
Sleeping bags are warm and suitable for sub-zero temperatures, washed after each use and replaced annually.
Camps are set up at locations such as Rio Blanco Spring and Lake Icalma.
Wi-Fi is available only in Pucón.
Meals feature traditional Chilean and Argentine cuisine, accompanied by local wines.
Vegetarian options available upon request.
